Burr; today was cloudy, dreary and 50*. I cheered myself up with a Japanese print top with sheer sleeves by my favorite designer, Vertigo, France. When I trod the halls of corporate America, I loved wearing Vertigo suits, so sassy, stylish & comfortable. Vest, hat & boots: Target. Amethyst necklace designer: Julie 415.823.6396. Hue cordoroy jeggings: DB Shoes. Fingerless gloves: Molly b.
At 72 I am blessed to feel like a teenager and occasionally like an 8 yr. old. My first priority is self-care: of physical body, spiritual journey, emotional and financial well being. My next priorities are family, friends and community. I eat and drink healthy, exercise/play often, love my family, dog and many friends. I help when/wherever I can, share my burdens and abundance; am dedicated to spiritual practices, loving abundantly and count my many blessings throughout the day.

Spring Back
Today I sprang back into fashion mode. This week Target had its Sprint hat collection and I had a field day supplying my wardrobe with 20 new hats. I like to get them before they are all gone! The vest is also from Target: TIFF girls. Ruffled edward…petite blouse: Nordstrom. Cavaricci jeans & beaded belt: thrifted: Sola Lucy. Ancient Joan & David shoes. Fingerless gloves: Molly b. Silver necklace: El Cerrito Plaza jewelers. Photos show part of the half cord of wood I had delivered for my fireplace for the remaining cold months.

Grieving
I was hoping to begin blogging again and still the grief of Roberta's loss is overwhelming. I'm sharing a photo of our blended family at happier times, in 2003 at Mary's 80th birthday. Roberta, a consummate fashion icon, is in the front row in red. Now both Mary and her daughter, Roberta, have passed. I'm standing in the second row, in the middle in olive green.

''The elephants of the world have lowered their trunks in sadness and loss.''
I'm not available until Wednesday, January 25th.
I am with family, reeling from the sudden illness and death of our beloved Roberta, my soul sister, Norman's devoted wife, dedicated mother to Jeremy & Jason, adored Nana to Jonah & Ethan, cherished relative, selfless patron and loyal friend.
Until then, treasuring my health, anita

Millions of Americans oppose SOPA and PIPA because these bills would censor the Internet and slow economic growth in the U.S.
Two bills before Congress, known as the Protect IP Act (PIPA) in the Senate and the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the House, would censor the Web and impose harmful regulations on American business. Millions of Internet users and entrepreneurs already oppose SOPA and PIPA.
The Senate will begin voting on January 24th. Please let them know how you feel. Sign this petition urging Congress to vote NO on PIPA and SOPA before it is too late.

Homage & Bulb
Fashion is where you find it, even on sculptures & on dressed up rocks from the junk yard. My blog was inspired by Ari Seth Cohen's ADVANCED STYLE - http://advancedstyle.blogspot.com/, where he documents mature women. Though today I have no photos of actual clothes, I want to pay homage to Ari for re-igniting the creative flame, desire & passion in me to begin fashion blogging.
This art is found at the Albany Bulb; it's birth is from the pure imperative & pleasure of creativity. One of the reasons I love & treasure walking at the Albany Bulb is that new creations are constantly springing up. It is like discovering an unannounced art opening.
