Red frog with blue jeans

Seeing the one inch, red, poison dart frog, in it's natural environment, was one of the goals of my trip to the  rainforest.  I was not disappointed as they were plentiful and colorful.  Because of the blue legs they are said to be wearing blue jeans.

The green guy with red eyes was a nice bonus!

Gotcha!

Tortuguero National Park, on the Caribbean Eastern Coast of Costa Rica, is even more remote than my last stop. I'm staying at an eco-lodge accessible only by boat.  It's remove is directly proportionate to the amazing number of exotic life I've been witnessing.  Today I hiked with lots of Deet to stave off bites.  We first saw the caiman - a small crocodile that inhabits Central & South America.

Then we came across the above fresh ocelot paw print in the mud.
