My True Colors

Before I ever came to Cal - University of California, Berkeley, I was in love with it.
Time has only increased my adoration and appreciation for Berkeley, the city I proudly, thankfully call home.  So my true emotional colors are blue and gold, Golden Bear country.  I love to wear & look great in red, but that's our BIG rival, Stanford's color.   Today was a casual day.  Morning coffee date, breakfast with extended family celebrating daughter-in-laws birthday, cheering for oldest grandson's basketball team in the playoffs and long walk, hike, run at the beach with dog, Rio (black lab-Great Dame).  Albany Bulb is a spigot of landfill on the San Francisco Bay, with views of the Bay Bridge (left), San Francisco (middle) and the Golden Gate Bridge (right).  The hilly terrain is populated with beautiful art of/for the elements and many homeless encampments.

I know I run like a girl (try to keep up)

Today is for running and photography. I usually convert my outfit for our daily run but today I'm hanging out in the running togs all day.  Brown tights: Rainbow, Emeryville.  "I know I run like a girl" brown, cotton shirt: Team In Training Expo. Emporio Armani brown/white wool scarf: Fink girls. Fingerless gloves - also called wristies - handknit by Alice.  White visor and brown snuggly boots: Target.  I took up running in the 1970s when I took a course at Esalen from Duvika Spino; it was very liberating.  I've been blessed to be running ever since, even after arthroscopic surgery in both knees for meniscus tears. These days I run barefoot at the beach with Rio dog. Running supports my good mental, physical and spiritual health.

Pink & charcoal were the colors I choose as a teen for my room.  As an adult I rarely wear pink, usually preferring red. But I love the pink watch with "diamonds" from The Breast Cancer Store.  (Help fight breast cancer now! It's FREE! Pass it on! Click to fund mammograms for women in need at www.thebreastcancersite.com.)

Gunmetal, platform, sandals from Joan & David Outlet in Calistoga many moons, suns & stars ago.  Prana, charcoal shorts: Sola Lucy Consignment.  Charcoal felt, cloche hat with flowers: Target.  Pink pearl necklace: San Francisco street vendor.  Pink heart: gift.
